My 1996 Volvo 850 GLT overheated on the 5 FWY in December, 2007. In January 2008, I resurrected my high school sweetheart, my 1982 Mercedes-Benz 300TD. It was sitting in my Dad’s Smog Check only shop in Orange, California for about 2 years. I tried to start it. Nothing happened, turns out my battery was gone. I ran over to Costco, picked up a batter for about 100 bucks and plugged it in. On the first try, the engine fired. Mind you it had 2 year old diesel sludge sitting the gas tank. This thing is a beast. In January it went under surgery at Lovecraft. Since then it’s been running off of SVO (straight vegetable oil) and WVO (waste vegetable oil).
